That isn't the reason science can't absolutely disprove god, you can't absolutely disprove a negative, the theory of God is an unfalsafiable hypothesis and therefore a useless concept to science.

What you can do is work on probabilities and confidently say that god probably does not exist based on lack of evidence.

Hawking is confident in his position but he would admit there are no absolutes.

That's the thing about a democracy Balders, people are allowed to have all sorts of views and they're allowed to campaign for those views to be made laws. What you're describing is more along the lines of Stalin's seculocracy.

If religious people stopped trying to get their view enshrined in laws I don't think anyone would give a fuck if they believed in fairy tales

Like Halal/Kosher meat , its a cruel way of killing animals so why allow it , hatred laws why do we have anti religious laws surely I can have my views that their never was a flying fucking horse and draw cartoons without the old bill saying I'm inciting religious hatred

Let them have their Friday/Saturday/Sunday for their special day but keep them out of making laws to cover fairy tales and let the majority get on with running their lives

I think you must have misunderstood my point about the big bang I don't use it to justify the existence of God but rather I would claim that atheists are wrong to claim that it shows that there is no God. And I point out that statistically it was highly unlikely that all the conditions necessary for the development of the universe happened by chance. This neither adds or detracts from my faith. Which I previously conceded is exactly that faith. Science is not in conflict with that faith.

People who try to constantly tell people that god isn't real are worse than people who believe in it.

I don't believe in it, but I just don't give a shit about it. I just get on with my life.

My granny goes to church everyday because it makes her happy. She doesn't force her religion on anyone. It's her thing that she likes doing, so why should anyone take that away from anyone else.
